Epitome of Resiliency: The Filipinos vs. The Disasters

Resiliency; the ability to overcome whilst being battered and bruised. It can be a person, or a whole nation. Philippines; a disaster-prone country. The nation where storms, typhoons, El Nino, La Nina and Eruptions happen often. Not every disaster can be predicted, not every disaster can be prepared. We filipinos are known for our resiliency after these disasters. Whether we are damaged, we always get back up and continue. The Philippines is situated in the PRoF, the Pacific Ring of Fire, where most, maybe all countries situated there are vulnerable to volcano eruptions, (hence why Fire is in the name) and these volcanoes are the cause of many disasters. A recent eruption happened at Albay, when the Mayon Volcano unexpectedly erupted. Many people lost their houses, their loved ones, everyone and everything, but they got back up. They stood up with their feet and smiled, and they said "everything will be fine." We are also part a tropical cyclone basin, meaning we get rai

Post-It Reaction: The State Of The Nation Address 2018

The president has released another bombardment of statements in the form of the SONA, The State of The Nation Address. Once again, I am here to share my thoughts and opinions on what our dear president has said during the said event. There are a lot of good points that he has said and I would just like to give a reaction. The biggest statement that he has said that everyone is talking about is "Your concern is human rights, my concern is human lives." Now, what he said was right and wrong. Right in the sense that he actually cares about human lives but wrong in the sense that he doesn't care about human rights. He needs to focus on these both, as him actually not giving a damn about human rights is actually damaging his and the country's reputation. The most ear-catching moment was when I heard that he wants to create a new department, called the Department of Disaster Management, which is for me, an amazing idea. Think of this, a department that actuallt helps out

Planting to The Future

"Why do need to plant fruits and vegetables? We already have tons of fast food chains, lots of processed food being made everyday...why do we need to plant still? It gives us so much nutrients that can help us survive forever!" - a guy I heard. Clearly, processed foods can't make us survive. We really can't live on if you keep eating processed foods, but, by eating AND planting fruits and vegetables, we can live longer. But why do we need to? Well, one reason is obviously, processed foods are UNHEALTHY.  We can't just eat processed foods everyday or else we'll become unhealthy. Another reason is that we can actually exercise while planting. It's a good workout. That's probably why farmers are so fit, because they plant all the time and get a good workout. A lot of filipinos are very unfit. They're probably like that because they eat a lot and they don't move a lot. They become lazy and sluggish, and they become large. We don't really
