Epitome of Resiliency: The Filipinos vs. The Disasters

Resiliency; the ability to overcome whilst being battered and bruised. It can be a person, or a whole nation. Philippines; a disaster-prone country. The nation where storms, typhoons, El Nino, La Nina and Eruptions happen often. Not every disaster can be predicted, not every disaster can be prepared. We filipinos are known for our resiliency after these disasters. Whether we are damaged, we always get back up and continue.

The Philippines is situated in the PRoF, the Pacific Ring of Fire, where most, maybe all countries situated there are vulnerable to volcano eruptions, (hence why Fire is in the name) and these volcanoes are the cause of many disasters. A recent eruption happened at Albay, when the Mayon Volcano unexpectedly erupted. Many people lost their houses, their loved ones, everyone and everything, but they got back up. They stood up with their feet and smiled, and they said "everything will be fine." We are also part a tropical cyclone basin, meaning we get rain when it's seasoned to come, weak or small. Floods, Landfalls, are typically the disaster we face when it's storm season. Many typhoons have gone past the Philippines, affecting everyone in the process. Ondoy, Mario, Lawin, YOLANDA. Ondoy was one of the strongest storms we faced in 2009. Almost everything was destroyed, but we got back up. Yolanda was one of the most damaging storms in 2014, hitting Tacloban and leaving it to dust, battered and pulverized, but we got back up. We've gone through so much, and yet we're still here, working hard and smiling through the pain. Why didn't we just give up, and let everything consume us? Because we are RESILIENT.

We are in a disaster-prone country, we expect disasters to come everyday, but we still say "Come at us! We're not scared of you!", because we are resilient. We don't give up easily. We are too strong for every disaster. We shouldn't be scared of the disaster coming at us, the disaster should be scared of us, because we'll never give up, we'll get back up, stand, and get through everything like there's no tomorrow. Why? BECAUSE WE ARE RESILIENT.

Dreams Maketh Futures

Dreams. These are the things we hope to achieve, the person as we hope to become. These dreams of ours are what drive us to achieve what we want in life. Dreams are kinda like the schematics, the paths, the guides that can make our futures brighter. Your dreams can make your future. Our dreams can guide us into making our futures a successful and a wonderful one. Let's say that you want be a doctor. You're dreaming of being a doctor, so you're gonna do your best to be a doctor. You're gonna try to get high grades and to be excellent in school, just so that you can be a doctor. You're gonna do everything it takes to be a doctor, and you're not gonna give up until you reach your dream. See what I mean? Your dreams can make your future. Think about this. Dreaming is already similar to planning to your future. You're already planning what you want to be, when you want to be that, why you want to be that. Like I've stated earlier, dreams are your blueprin...

Insights on Kannawidan 2019 ; Yay or Nay?

It's that time of the year again, where we celebrate the separation of Ilocos Sur and Norte by being merry for the whole festival. This is my insight, on Kannawidan 2019. Kannawidan was super jam-packed this year. I normally don't have an interest IN Kannawidan, but this year's festivities were too good not to miss. Star-studded guests performed, new activities emerge and memorable moments were made. Clearly, they've cranked up the production level up by bringing big names to the table; December Avenue and Unique Salonga, just to name  a few. The quality of events have gotten way higher and way more enjoyable. Tourists and people from other parts of the country even came to see what Kannawidan was all about, and judging by their faces and reactions, they had an amazing time. Props to the Governor and everyone who organized this huge festival. Overall, Kannawidan was a great success this year. This year's Kannawidan was a BIG YAY! Perfect events, perfect star g...

High School Day ; Yay or Nay?

High School Day; the celebration of the foundation of our school. This event, for me, is the only one I kinda enjoy, and I actually get to participate fully. The question is, is the High School Day a Yay, or a Nay? This is my insight on this Year's HS Day. This year's HS Day, was, interesting. I'm gonna have to be blunt here and say that this year's HS Day was quite normal. Though he day was uneventful, most of the field demos were fun to watch. So many people complained about this year's rendition, but I cannot complain. I know that they can make next year's event better. It was kind of enjoyable. The happiness that this year gave was just a 7 second smirk. It quickly faded away. Props to the organizers for giving their best, but it can be improved. To be honest, the preparation was more fun than the event itself. For me, the HS Day is not a Nay or a Yay, it is NEUTRAL. it was fun, but there were parts that were not fun. I hope that next year...
